Secondly, the IRS estimates that as much as 40 percent of tips go unreported.

It really depends on the type of place, the price point, the generosity of the customers, your attitude, the number of people you serve, etc. Depends on the crowd. A family crowd tips less than a ‘couples’ crowd. A college crowd tips less than a professional crowd. You may or may not top that with a run of the mill restaurant job.
